Meet Pacific Autohaus

There are two of us. James Permenter and Jakob Lichdi own Pacific Autohaus fifty-fifty, and between us we buy every car, photograph every car and answer every text. Nobody here works on commission, because there is nobody here to pay one to.

James has been around cars since he was seventeen, starting out detailing at a Mercedes-Benz store. After that came the independent side, then helping open a Kia store from the ground up — running its website, its CRM, its advertising and its photography before moving into sales, several years in finance, and then management. Fifteen years of watching how dealerships treat people, and a fairly clear idea of which parts of it to keep.

Jakob Lichdi grew up around the country and speaks German, which turns out to be more useful on a lot like this one than it sounds. He started at a Toyota store young and worked his way up to finance manager, and became one of the best in the area at it. That is a good person to have on your side of the desk: someone who knows which lender will actually say yes, and what a fair rate looks like when it is sitting in front of you.

We recondition our cars ourselves. There is a mechanic in-house and the repair facility is registered with the state, so when something needs doing before a car goes up, it gets done here rather than passed along. It also means that when we tell you what was done to a car, we were the ones who did it.
